Posts are mounted to top handrail by simply bolting post into rotation plate using included wrenches. The posts are 40" long and constructed from heavy walled 1" square tubing with holes already drilled for easy installation into the handrail molding. The installation requires drilling a 1-1/2" diameter hole 3-4" deep into the concrete. After inserting the posts in the hole the rail can be secured by filling with anchoring or expansion cement available at your local hardware store. After fabrication, all railings are sand blasted, fully primed and finished with a baked on satin black powder coat (defined below). If desired we will offer our rails in primer only, to allow you to paint the rail yourself. It is used on many metal items that are exposed to weather because, as a finish, it is the best way to insure durability, weather resistance, and color retention. A powder- coated finish consists of part paint and part polyester sealer/resin. The finish is applied as a powder electro-statically and while held to metal this way, is baked in an oven.
